OTK’s Redspeed brand will officially be making its Canadian debut this spring with Ontario based team Kevin Glover Racing. KGR will become the Ontario dealer for the brand, forming an agreement with Canadian Redspeed distributor Racing Edge Motorsports earlier this week. After a successful debut season in 2019, winning two ASN Canadian National titles, KGR looks to build on that success in 2020 with their drivers flying the Redspeed colours. Team owner Kevin Glover has been working hard over the offseason with development on the powertrain side as well as getting the team ready for the season to start this spring. KGR’s engine program has won multiple National titles in ROK, Rotax and Briggs & Stratton competition over the last decade. The majority of those championships were with various teams using OTK chassis in both Canada and the United States. “This is an exciting time for team KGR to have an opportunity like this,” explained team owner Kevin Glover. “With the addition to the Redspeed chassis line, I’m looking forward to being able to provide current and future clients with more options on the OTK platform to help facilitate further growth in the sport.” 2020 Redspeed Kart (Photo: OTK) KGR Read more…

Hornbostel Secures Another FWT Top-5 in Miami! Canadian Nicholas Hornbostel tends to fly under the radar, but his results in the Florida Winter Tour have caught our attention. This past weekend at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida, Hornbostel secured his second straight top-five finish at the Rok Cup USA Florida Winter Tour and now has positioned himself with a shot at the championship podium. The popular international series attracts a great array of drivers from North and South America, especially in Senior Rok division that Hornbostel competes in. After qualifying seventh on Friday afternoon, Hornbostel was just one position short of participating in the Media Dash for Cash, and when a driver opted out at the last minute, unfortunately, it was too late for him to suit up and join the race. Fighting hard through the heats to remain in the top-ten, Sunday was Hornbostel’s best day on track. Starting from tenth on the grid for the Final, he dodged a kart smacking the barrier on lap one and completed the first tour up five spots in fifth. He was embedded in a battle for the position for the remainder of the race, initially crossing in sixth Read more…

Racing Edge Motorsports kicked off the month of June with a strong run of finishes at the second round of the Eastern Canadian Karting Championship in picturesque Mont Tremblant, Quebec as REM drivers won three of the finals along with having another 10 podium finishes. Leading the charge for REM were Briggs & Stratton Junior drivers Gabriel Savoie and William Chayer. Savoie and Chayer were quick all weekend dominating Saturday’s final to finish 1-2. Moving on to Sunday, Savoie had another strong run leading the race at the closing stages but ultimately finishing second in a close finish which allowed him to take over the championship lead. Chayer on the other hand was involved in a turn 1 incident which sent him to the back of the field. However all was not lost as he came back from last to finish sixth to remain in third place in the championship.
